Race entry for 2014 will open in January.
Footsteps Foundation enables children and young adults with neurological disorders to access the innovative physiotherapy programme provided by the Footsteps Centre in Dorchester-on-Thames. The intensive therapy programme combines traditional methods of physiotherapy with the use of a specialist piece of equipment which is unique to the UK. The ‘Spider’ enables therapists to carry out a range of exercises in any chosen position using elastic ropes to align the child’s body. The three-week therapy programme helps disabled children to increase their physical, cognitive and developmental abilities whilst improving their confidence and independence. Footsteps Foundation financially assists those families who would otherwise struggle to afford the cost of the Footsteps therapy programme. The charity awards grants to these families covering a percentage of the total cost and helping disabled children to reach their full potential. This short film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04Q45yRMkHo demonstrates the need for Footsteps therapy as well as the difference that sponsors could make.
